How awkward. My mil recently bought the exact same shoes as me like we were shopping and I was wearing them and she bought matching ones. Lol.
Ummmmmmm yeah I'd be a bit weirded out by that honestly. I'd still wear it. But it would go to the back of my wardrobe.
OR excuse to buy a new one?

I would be annoyed OP. I guess it is a compliment to you, but still it would be annoying knowing that you cant wear it to any event she will be at in case she is wearing it, or other people have seen her in it and think you have borrowed your MILs dress.

I'd be annoyed too, but don't let her buying it ruin it for you!
I bet you look much nicer in it. I like it when I see people with the same dress as I own out and about... when I know I rock it better than they do.

would you be annoyed...
It wouldn't bother me at all. My MIL and I don't have anything the same, but my mum and I have so much the same/similar if we're going out we often have to phone each other up beforehand to check what the other is wearing. We just have the same style, sure she's in her early fifties but she's got a young style and a far better figure than me!

would you be annoyed...
My own mother (72) does this all the time! I used to get frustrated but now try to take it as a compliment. Easy to say though as we now live two states away from each other, which means we will never really turn up in the same outfit.
My mum does look young for her age... She even still wears a bikini! I think by her purchasing the same things she is trying to feel younger and more connected to me... Recently she has started giving me things that are now too tight for her! Scored an amazing pair of white designer jeans she bought in America... So not complaining now!
