Fluoride in tap water
Not sure I'm a fan of fluoride added to our water.
My mum was given fluoride tablets when she was growing up as it was the done thing. She has horrible teeth, as in she has false teeth and she's just 45 now. She's had then for 8-10 years now. Her sisters and brothers were also given tablets and their teeth are really good
We were brought up on tank water also, I never had 'town water' until I moved to Brisbane 5 years ago. My teeth are not awesome but I think it's genetics in our family

Re: Fluoride in tap water
Yes it did, which is when the system would switch to the bore water fed from a spring, its what happens when you live in whoop whoop. What is your point? I never drank fluoride til I moved to the city and I have no fillings, I dont like that I pay for water and have to have it fluoridated, my opinion and belief stop shooting it down!

Fluoride in tap water
I won't drink tap water, it smells and tastes horrible! We have a cooler and pay for bottled water. I use toothpaste with flouride, purely because that's what supermarket toothpastes have, not by specific choice. My teeth are excellent. I haven't done any research though so curious for bubs, when the time comes for her to start drinking water..

Fluoride in tap water
Doesn't bother me. If it can have a benefit, fair enough. Ppl are so suspicious nowadays about any additive or chemical. Some level of skepticism is good but in can get overboard sometimes. Ppl have never been living longer so I doubt it's poisoning ppl. Ppl r living too long as it is but that's another debate!
Side note the tap water in Melbourne tastes lovely IMO! I much prefer it to bottled water. The cost of bottled water is insane for what it is.
Further side note, a part of Great Britton with high suicide rates in the population was recently debating adding Lithium to the public water supply as studies have shown in areas where water naturally has more Lithium in it, suicide rates are lower (Lithium is used to treat a variety of mental illnesses such as bipolar and depression). Not saying I'm pro this, just found it interesting.

I wasn't in for fluoride but it seems most pp who had it have better teeth.
We use the Brita filter not sure if that removes fluoride, does anyone know?
For both our children we use First teeth toothpaste when they don't know how to spit. It's fluoride free.
