Default Negative pregnancy test after mc.

I have a family member who had told me she was pregnant, about 5-6 weeks on a thursday. On the Friday, she messages me to tell me she had been bleeding and believed she was having a mc. On the Tuesday, she said she had taken a pregnancy test yesterday and it had confirmed that she had miscarried by giving a negative result. I guess something just doesn't add up (there is more to the story). I would have thought it would take longer than 3 or 4 days for hcg to be out of your body to give a negative pregnancy test. Does anyone know roughly how long it takes to get a bfn after mc?

sorry for her loss, so sad I think the baby can die and stop growing (and producing HCG) a while before you start bleeding. I've had my HCG go down to zero before the bleeding has started, so it could have happened a week or two ago.

your poor friend. That is really sad for her. This person probably needs a friend to support her. I would think, yes. Highly possible scenerio.

Make sure she sees her Dr. She might need an ultrasound to ensure the mc has completed.

Offer her all the love and support you can. Losing a baby is rough. At least let her know you're there for her.

This. My first miscarriage my baby died and it was 4 weeks before I started bleeding (thought pregnancy was going fine until scan at 10 weeks when i started bleeding showed baby died at 6. My second miscarriage we knew something was wrong from the start, and the day I started bleeding a blood test showed hcg was negative.

Default Negative pregnancy test after mc.

Thank you all so much for the info and I'm so sorry to those who have been devastated by mc. Like I said, there was a lot more to the story that made me question what was going on and am glad to know that this is possible. I have been keeping in contact to make sure that she is ok and offering support.
    Thanks again everyone.
