We are seriously considering a seperate upright freezer (150-180L) so I can cook more food in bulk and have somewhere to store excess from our vegie garden (seems the 200L or so in our side-by-side isn't enough)!
However, I've noticed that a frost free freezer seems to cost a few hundred more than a manual defrost. Are manual ones really annoying to defrost? Any idea how often it might need doing?
I'm also leaning towards the upright with door style over a chest freezer. Less efficient to run apparently, but I suspect a chest would deter me from using it and things would get lost in there! Would be interested to hear others experiences though
