And there are babies in my mothers group who have been on it since 8 weeks and have handled fine so I don't think 13 weeks will be 2 big of a problem

6 months BLW. Farex smells and tastes like saw dust IMO, plus if it is runny will it even "fill" him up? He may just be going through a growth spurt, I would hold off and see how he goes, smaller more frequent bottles? He may just be thirsty with the warmer weather?

If he went smaller more frequent then he would just have a bottle in his mouth non stop lol he sucks his bottles dry as it is

Ok seriously I was asking when others were starting their babies, our Dr has ok'd DS2 to start now at 13 weeks but FYI DS1 was started by hospital staff at 6 weeks and a pead put DD on it at 10 weeks it is 1/4 of a teaspoon mixed with formula and now instead of general chit chat I am getting medical advice and what seems to be a lot of judgement.

DD I started on farex with breast milk at 6 months.
DS1 and 2 both started solids at 5.5 months but no farex for them!

There was a thread on almost the exact same topic a few days ago maybe that might be a good place to look for some varied answers.

My baby is 16 weeks and we are going to start with purée vegetables first when he is 4 months (in 9 days time). My baby has 4-5 bottles a day at 200mls each. He is on the 75th percentile and the pead said to start at 4 months. So excited, can't wait!!!
I'm still looking in to farex and what nutritional content it actually has. Not sure if I will be bothered with it.

I started my DS on farex and breastmilk a bit over four months. He quickly moved on to other food, we did a mix of purees and baby lead weaning. He's now quite happily eating what we eat (at 12 months).
I personally wouldn't start before four months. Feeding so often is, I think, still very normal and not necessarily a reason to introduce solids. My DS was still feeding every four hours until 6-7 months.
Sorry, just noticed you've received medical advice... I'd still be hesitant but it's up to you. All but one of the babies in my mother's group started on farex at four months, the other baby started with baby lead weaning at six months.
