Oh Betty you are hilarious! Thats a lot of sticks! !

Sara I had 8 on day 3 and only 3 by day 5. I was disappointed too but it sounds like its normal. Next time I just wont go in with as many expectations.

Hey ladies - as you know I have a surrogate as due to cancer last year I had a hysterectomy. what you may not know is that as I have a surrogate I am not entitled to any medicare rebates as you all are for IVF. My out of pocket expenses for a single IVF round has been around $17,000.

There are many women like me who has this added pressure. Not only do we have to deal with not being able to carry our own babies, but we also have to pay crazy amounts for it.

A few of us have got together to cry and lobby the goverment to make changes to the laws that deny us medicare rebates. We have started a Facebook page to assist with our campaign. I would love you to all join and support us. If your keen you can find our group at:

    Thank you

Default January / February IVF cycle buddies: Lucky 2013!

Jabbing myself is getting harder and harder...at first I had no problem just stabbing it in there, now it's this big battle of the mind, and today I hovered the needle over my belly for about ten minutes before I was able to just do it. And it bloody hurt. Going to have to start numbing it with ice again.

Joined Good on you all for getting together and taking a stand, I'm sure once you get your message and stories out there the Government will have to make this change, it is only fair. Best of luck!

Rainbow have you tried inserting the needle really slowly and gently? That's how I do it and it works for me. The first few times i tried to think of it as an accupuncture needle so fine that it just slips in and you hardly feel it, and honestly thats how it has been ever since!

It's called equal Medicare benefits for all couples doing ivf - including surrogacy.

Thank you so much for your support.

Our blood test is this Friday, fingers crossed!! Chloe's convinced she's pregnant - hope she's right!!

Will have to try that next time. Going to hope DP can do the rest, it's easier not knowing exactly when it's going in for me

I love acupuncture- you've reminded me to call the acupuncturist tomorrow!
