    Default Bad form or ok?

If you were given it in the first place, you should give it away. Otherwise you are profiting off someone else's generosity.

I gave a Pumpkin Patch skirt to a friends' little girl that I had bought 2nd hand and her husband said "ooh Pumpkin Patch - we can make some money out of this...." I was stunned. They hadn't even left my house?! And it still technically fit my daughter but their daughter was slightly smaller and fell in love with it.... Rude much?

But your first instinct was right though... No sale. :-)

Yes, I'll definitely pay it forward. This person gave the things to me out of generosity. But remember it's not always the case. My brother and SIL offered us a heap of baby stuff and said at the time "you can have it because we can't be a$&ed working out how to get rid of it"!!!!

We got given a heap of things from dh cousin who specifically said I could keep it or sell it if I wanted she didn't mind. We're still using most of it, have leant some of the maternity clothes to a friend but with more kids in our future we will keep or hand down to siblings who are yet to have kids. But yes, you're right there are cases where it is ok to sell it. Depends totally on the circumstance.

Slightly off topic but can you really make much from selling 2nd hand kids clothes?

I honestly wouldn't care if someone sold something I gave them and I would hope karma wouldn't hunt them down But I asked the question because I guess I knew it was the wrong thing to do as it just didn't feel right.

No, lemonpancakes, I don't think so. It wasn't the clothes I was going to sell. Some swaddles and slings/carriers that sell well secondhand. I could do with some pocket money but there are people who could get more use out of the stuff anyway.

bad form.... i would either give them away, or give them back to the friend. It was nice of her to give them to you in the beginning, i think re-selling them is poor taste...

    Maybe ask the friend too?
