    Default PCOS and Clomid success

Hi ladies just wanted to share my story! I have PCOS and I am 17 weeks pregnant! We fell on a combination of 200mg of clomid and an ovidril shot! I was on various doses of clomid for 2 and a half years! This year I got serious (I am over weight) and I lost some weight and the mix of clomid and ovidril worked! Good luck!!

    Default PCOS and clomid

Hi everyone, I've never done this forum stuff before so I hope I am in the right place. I have really found it interesting and helpful reading everyone's posts. I have been ttc for 12 months with no luck. I've had PCOS for almost 10 years and I am overweight. I have just been to see a gynaecologist who has done my bloods and I am about to have another ultrasound done. Dr said that if she is happy with results she will start clomid in a couple of weeks. Any advice out there??? Haven't had clomid before. What should I expect and what sort of monitoring will be done (blood tests etc??) I am just about to start my fertility journey...scary but exciting!!!!!!

    Hi specajane..
My partner and I have been TTC since April 2011 however I was only just diagnosed with PCOS in August this year.
I got in to see a gyno/fertility specialist who prescribed Clomid 50mg from CD4-9.
The hardest thing about being given the script for Clomid was waiting to see if my period would arrive naturally or if I should take something to bring it on.

As far as monitoring and testing - I think docs do different things. I've got a referral for a CD21 blood test however there are docs who do ultrasounds etc to see if you have ovulated.

I'm on CD14 today and I'm expecting/hoping to ovulate in next day or two.

I was on holidays while I was taking my Clomid and it was only when I was sweltering in a hotel room on the day i took the last pill, running the AC full blast at 18 degrees that I realised I was getting the hot flushes that were one of the side affects!! DP was also happy to use the Clomid to explain any other side affect of our holiday including my mood swings while stuck in a car with him for hours at a time
