Default Is anyone else gonna wait to meet their baby....

before naming them? For example do you have 2 or more names for a particular gender but you want to see which name suits the baby best?

We had a short list both times. We were never 100% final on "one" name and were quite happy to wait until we met them.

We knew gender for dd1, but surprise for dd2.

We only have 1 name for this baby but I'm not going to lock it in, I want to reserve the right to change my mind until I fill in the birth certificate. She will 99% be named our chosen name.

We had a name picked for DS but couldn't decide with DD so waited till she was born and it took maybe 4days to decide her name.

With first DS I had a few picked, second DS we had 2 but had decided before birth on just the one, and dd due in dec has had her name since 26 weeks! Her name can be shortened into heaps of things so we will see what she looks like

we did this and I am very glad we did. Our top girls name that we liked before the birth just would not have suited our bub. We went to the birth with 2 boys names and about 8 girls! We chose the name whilst I was nursing her for the first time in the birthing ward so we knew pretty quick which one 'suited'.
