Default DS just won't poo in the toilet.

We are so frustrated, DS was a breeze to toilet train.. In fact we trained him after he asked to do poo in the toilet and did it successfully.. He's been TTd since he was two and a bit.. BUT For some reason he just will not poo in the toilet since that day. He asks for a nappy and will hold on until we put a nappy on for him.. He did two poos a couple of weeks ago, but he had the runs and there was no time to get the nappy on.. he was so proud of himself and we made such a big deal out of it.. but no poo in the toilet since then..We have tried rewards, TTing charts, you name it - we've done it.. He just gets distressed when we try... Any ideas or stories that will ease my mind?

Default DS just won't poo in the toilet.

My 3 year old also refuses to poo in the toilet. He is completely wee trained (even overnight) so am also very frustrated.

I'm sure you've tried everything but have you tried bubbles? Our doc in the Uk said sometimes they find the sensation of the poo dropping away quite intimidating and that giving them bubble solution and letting their mind off it can help them relax. Good luck!

My DS did this for 6 months after he was toilet trained for wees.

We had a really bad day one day and he did a poo on his bedroom floor just to get a rise out of me (he had just turned three - I couldn't believe they start trying to annoy you that young!!) I told him that if he could do it on the floor, there was no reason he couldn't do it in the toilet. He thought about it for a day or so and has done them in the toilet ever since.

Basically, I think they will only do it when they are ready.

Is he going to kindy or some type of preprep next year? I've convinced my DS to learn all sorts of stuff in the last couple of months by telling him he needs to know how to do it before he goes to kindy!

Other than that, what about trying to get him to do his poo on the toilet whilst wearing his nappy and giving him some type of reward for that? Then slowly move to nappy unclipped, then nappy off?

Same problem here. DS just dances around pacing if he has to do a poo. He will not even sit on the toilet to do a poo, he just waits till it is sleep time and he has a nappy on. Very frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe he doesn't like the water from the toilet splashing him on the bum ?

My 2 hated it so I put toilet paper in the bottom of the toilet before they went and problem fixed

Sent from my GT-I9100T using BubHub

My 2.5yr old DS is the same!!! Been trained with wee's for soo soo long but.just.will.not poo on the toilet!! He will hide and do it in his undies or if he's running around pantsless he'll do it outside on the grass. I ask him 'DS where do poo's go?' and he'll say 'on the toilet' without having to think but wont do it. Doing my head in!
