Default Pre-school and Prep Hills region Sydney

    Hi,

I'm a mum to a nearly 3 year old, and expecting our second in a couple of weeks time. We'll be moving to Sydney in Jan 2014 and am researching Pre-school & Prep (as well as Primary/Secondary schools) as my little boy will be turning 4 in Jan 2014....

My big question are there any good preschool/kindy and prep in the Hills region. We haven't set where exactly we'll live but it will likely be in either Baulkham hill, Castle hill or Bella vista.

There's pretty good information for primary and secondary schools, but I haven't been able to find any recent information on which Pre-schools and Prep in the Hills area were good...

Any help would be so very much appreciated!!

    Thank you.

I'm in that area (closer to Rouse Hill though) but only have a 15mo at the moment. I don't think there is a "prep" in NSW. Quite a few daycare centres do preschool programs from what I understand.

Matthew Pearce is probably one of the most sought after primary schools in Baulkham Hills, Jasper Rd Primary is also very good. Houses in the catchments for those schools are at a premium as so many people want their kids to go there.

The hills is a great area

Oh I forgot to add, I'd avoid Bella Vista. Small blocks, traffic and way overpriced in my opinion.

Thank you Cue for your reply, I have noticed "Mathew Pearce Catchment" advertised on the houses while also house hunting on Realestate.com.au, but it's a primary school isn't it?

I was looking for more Kindy type establishments as DS would only have turned 4 and will be too young for primary when we move... Any suggestions on which daycare with preschool programs that you're aware of that are good? Most importantly safe, warm, happy, good qualified carers/teachers, some structure to learning (so he can transition into schooling a little easier).

I'm incredibly nervous as we're amongst the first to have kids within our circle of friends (in fact none of the others have kids yet) and also both DH & I work full time (not out of choice, I would ideally have like to done part time so we hardly have time to find new friends with kids) so DS has mainly been raised by grandma with little to almost no contact with other kids... And now that he's almost 3, I worry he'll struggle...

    Hi mybubby!

I live in the hills and my middle child goes to Kellyville Pre school. Can't recommend them highly enough! The teachers are amazing, and a couple of them have been there since the kindy opened. I realise it's not in Baulkham Hills, but thought I'd mention it in case you end up closer to Kellyville. We actually have out of area students attend because of the fantastic recommendations the pre school gets! Kellyville Public is excellent too, very happy with them.

All the best! You'll love the Hills!

Carrington road pre school has a really really good reputation. I've heard nothing but positive reviews about it! It's in castle hill.

    Hi cmd'smum and disney,
    Thank you for your tips.
By the way, what are my chances of getting him into these places as they seem popular with regards to having to go on the wait list?
