    Default Eternal Angular Dermoid?

    HI

My DD is 10 weeks old and today had our routine pead check up. He found an external angular dermoid ( a funny lump in near the eye, which is harmless but grows bigger and gets ugly). It should be removed by a plastic surgeon under a GA...anyone have any experience with this? how did your bub go having a GA? Im a bit scared about the whole thing TIA!

My DS had one as well. We noticed it at 2 months and the specialist wanted to wait until 18ths to go under a GA (mainly as DS had only cracked the 10kg mark as well). I was really nervous as well but it was a super quick surgery (15mins) then 15 mins in recovery. I was allowed to take him into the actual operating theatre and hold him whilst they put the little gas mask on him to sedate him. I would have to say that was the most upsetting part but we had a really good aneatheatist (sp) who was very reassuring how straigthforward it was and compared it to other risks to show how low it was.

He came out of it fine and we were home 1.5 hrs later.
    Hope that helps: )
