    Default Day 9 - Weigh In....gutted

So, I dared to step back on the scales first thing this morning and they had the audacity to tell me the same thing that they did a week ago. Not happy Jan. Upon reflection, I can see that while I have Zumba'd 6 times, not all of those times have been a really high energy workout because I have been trying to just get a handle on the movements and may not have got my heart rate up enough in all of them, so for this coming week, I know the moves better and I can be sure to get a proper workout each and every time.

I really need to take my measurements so that I am not just relying on what the scales say. My work trousers had a bit more room around the waist the other day so I think that I have had some changes....but I just want the scales to validate me too .

I will check back later, post workout. I'm thinking it might be time for Ripped today. Wish me luck.

Measurements are a must! You don't need no stinkin' scale to validate you, woman! Measurements are where it's at.

Keep eating healthy, keep exercising, try not to worry about the things you can't control like a number on a scale and worry about what you can control like doing the things that will inevitably make it go down!

Measurements. You're doing yourself a disservice by not taking them!

A heart rate monitor could also be a good option for you, it tells you how much you are burning per workout which is a must if you are to accurately track your input vs output.

try not to be disheartened just yet

Thanks. I was looking at monitors on line the other night but they all seem so expensive. I might just bite the bullet and stop being so stingy. I really think it would help me.

Thanks for the hints on heart rate monitors. I will check out ebay.

Well, Ripped was great. I think it might be my favourite but that may be because I was able to keep up with it better than Exhilirate, mind you, I WILL conquer Exhilarate and feel great doing it.

Dips. My nemesis. I am not referring the things you have with biscuits, I mean the dastardly exercise using a chair as seen in Sentao. Grr. It isn't that I can't do the dip, it is that the set up takes a bit longer for me and the whole routine is over and done with by the time I get myself sorted. You see, I have a little impediment - my arms are a bit too short for the length of my body (my husband makes jokes about me being like a t-rex) so it means I have to hunch myself right down, curving my spine to put my hands in under my bum on the edge of the seat. Well, it is hard to describe but mark my words, I look and feel bloody ridiculous. I might ask Santa for arm extensions. I work a full day tomorrow so I might do Rush tomorrow night.

Off to research heart rate monitors!

I haven't even tried ripped yet. I might have to try it tomorrow. I am still finding Exhilarate a challenge too. We will get there.

Ripped is great because it is that bit slower and more like fitness classes that I have done before, except the sentao, never used a chair before
