Default Career mums - Would you choose a different career?

I'm seriously considering changing but it would require studying for another 4-6 years and I don't know that we can afford it *sigh*

    You can definatly start over!!!

    It's never to late!

I was in hospitality (resturant manager) for many years.

last year I QUIT & went back to studying.

I am now a personal trainer.

I earn 3 times my original wage in 1/3 of the time AND I ENJOY my work.

    It's never too late!

I'm trying to find something to do. I have an education degree and post grad teaching cert but got these 16 yes ago and gave hardly used them. Since I've worked mainly in accounts. I took the easy way out basically and had a well paid job with little stress and good hours for over 6 yrs. I've recently been made redundant and will need to find something in the new year a couple of days a wk. But I really need it to be worth going back financially and I'd really like school
hours. My DD starts full time school and my DS will go to daycare 2 days. So I either have to settle for something convenient or decide what I really want to do. ......

I worked all my life. When I was in HS, I would stay at my mom's clothing store and sell my own products like bead bracelet and the like. Her customer's found it cute, so they would buy my items. Of course, they were extremely cheap, too because what did I know about pricing? If overheard my mom saying that she spend more on the beads and materials than what I was making selling them. LOL

Anyway, it was disorienting to have to stop working after I gave birth. It was just too difficult to have to go to work and my mind is on whether my daughter was ok or if she was able to take her vitamins, etc.

Anyway, while at home, I tried to find work that would be inline with my interests and I realized that there are so many things that work from home moms can do! So, my only thought for this trail is don't give up and keep looking for that one thing that you can do without sacrificing the well being of your kids.

I don't know if this will help give you ideas. But try it out, it just might. This test gave me ideas for my next adventure.

    Try this
