It's so worthwhile having them in lessons from a young age. The focus of lessons for the little ones is water safety not swimming as such, if you know what i mean. A huge part of the class for DD every week is falling in, then swimming straight back to the side. They also do lessons in clothes every 6 weeks or so to get them used to that feeling of swimming with clothes on. She's been to swimming class since a baby and just loves it. She has fallen in a pool once (in togs) and she just turned around and swam back to the side.

Glad to hear your DD is doing heaps better OP! I hope she enjoys her swimming classes!

    Glad she is ok.

Ds started baby swimming classes at 6mths old and has done 3 stages of swimming lessons and can and will swim across the pool to us, duck dive etc. Not sure what went wrong this day but just goes to show that even though they know basics and are confident these such things can still happen regardless.
