Default ive made it to 6 months!!!

i just wanted to say im pretty impressed with myself.... i made it to Bfing my DD for 6 months

...i remember at 1 week i was in agony and couldnt imagine making it to 2 weeks, thank god for pumps, at 2 weeks they said she wasnt gaining enuf and had to set my alarm to wake her and myself to feed every 2-3 hrs....that sucked!!! dragging my sleep deprived self outta bed..didnt think i could do it...but we did....then to my dismay i knew i had bloody nipple thrush (chronic) again by about 4 weeks .....then 6 weeks become 8 weeks and i thought if i can make it to 3 months i'll be chuffed and before i knew it it was 4 months and then she was busting the weight charts at 90th percentile + .....so despite it all we made it to 6 months and now my DD wont even look twice at a bottle....part of me worries about that but another part if secretly thrilled she loves my boobs so much!!!

anyway just a little story .....its true that BF is hard at first, really hard but its also true that b4 u know it gets easier....im glad i stuck to it when i wanted to quit in the early days.....i actually have really enjoyed BFing this time and as i know its my last baby i guess im happy to keep going for teh time being...

    Hi all

I was about to start a new thread but just found this one as I have just made it to 6 months also. I am so proud of myself after dealing with a massive oversupply, mastitis, a tear, weeks of anxiety and tears, two lactation consultants and stints of using nipple shields and expressing only from one side. I'm very proud of myself and my 6 month old DD. never thought it would be so hard but bloody proud of myself!!!

Congratulations ladies!! I am 12 days away from reaching 6 months of exclusively pumping! 3.5 months while DD was in NICU and another 2.5 home. When I first starting pumping I thought it was the most tedious difficult thing ever! 6 months in and I think I could do another 6!

It's so nice to read this .
I have tried many times to b/f but it's just so painful I gave up and was shattered .
Anyway I'm pregnant again and I'm gonna try one last time .
I hope I can write the same post as this further down the track xx

I am 8 days into BFing and have shed many tears, but I'm glad to see that I'm not alone. Hopefully I'll be saying the same thing in 6 months time!!
