Default An insurance - already pregnant - but wants a cover when my bub is born

    Hi everyone,
I am already pregnant and this is my first post , I do not have a private health insurance. well I know its too late to have one now for pregnancy related claims. But I am looking for a cover, which will cover my new born baby. is there any waiting period for a new born baby to be added into mother's insurance.

can any one suggest me a good cover,, thank you

I have private health and they said to me that you need to inform them of bub asap and within 2 months. They don't have to serve any waiting periods unless you still have to. And you only pay for single/couples membership till by comes along. Then they change you to a single parent/family membership.

That is how it works for medical private from what I understand... Find a cover that suits you then ring them and ask! Good luck and hope this helps

Bupa will cover your new baby if you add them within 2 months regardless of how long you have had cover and if you have served your waiting periods or not. Obviously it's in your best interest to get your cover as quickly as possible so that you can start your waiting periods and reduce the risk of your child coming early and missing out on the cover you want for them.

I'm sure some of the other funds must do the same thing.
