Default Re: Not believing in Halloween?

I hate it, but that's because I'm lazy and disorganised and we're lucky to have a birthday event planned by me let alone Halloween, mothers day, fathers day, easter, Christmas etc etc

    Default Not believing in Halloween?

I'm doing it in my room so that I have an abundance of multicultural activities for my program. As it is something that we don't traditionally celebrate in Australia.
Each to their own. I don't enforce it or anything if a parent requested their child not participate I'd respect their wishes.

If you ask my kids about Halloween they say "No, we aren't American."
It's a suck in and I'm not about giving kids knocking on my door free candy. I paid for the candy, I'll be eating the candy.

Are you sure they're not American? Their mum calls lollies 'candy'

Excuse my ignorance but why don't some Christians like Halloween?

    Because it's a pagan celebration.

But for us it's scary things, fun and lollies. We also celebrate Diwali without the Hindu aspect, like many people celebrate Christmas and Easter without the Christian aspect.

As a non christian, my understanding is that (some) christians regarding it as honouring (for want of a better word) the occult.
