Default Cold and flu symptoms early pregnancy?

Hi there ,I'm pregnant with #1... I've read the cold Symptoms can be a normal thing in the first trimester. But I'm getting a little worried as its not just a stuffy nose. I've Also got aching sinuses (my whole face burns) blocked and runny nose, nausea , light headed , warery eyes cold and hot flushes and a headache ... It seems much more flu-like so I'm worried if me being Ill could have a negative effect on my baby (approx 5w5d) ?? Ive had these symptoms for 3 days, today is definitely the worst .. Home in bed

Should I head to the docs ? There's not much they can do as I can't take meds anyway

I had flu like symptoms in very early preg (5/6 weeks) similar to what you have described, although I had been sick on and off before then, so could have just been sick! Having a cold/ flu isn't going to do any harm to bub, and is pretty common due to lowered immune system, you just need to make sure you rest up and keep hydrated. I don't think you can take much more than panadol, but you could visit your dr or pharmacy and see if there is something safe to take during pregnancy to relieve the symptoms.
