    Default Natural Treatments for Heartburn/Reflux

    Hi all

I've just started getting heartburn/reflux at 16 weeks pregnant. Does anyone have any natural remedies that I can try?

    Thanks

    Hi Adearl

I have been looking into this as well. I found this link helpful http://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnanc...pregnancy.aspx

Basically eat smaller amounts, slowly and more regular and avoid typical culprits like spicy food and drink water before and after meals.

I am very interested to see what remedies people have, I have been told if all else fails TUMs is the over the counter med to take, but would rather avoid that option

Thanks ladies. Well I have found a homeopathic remedy that I am going to try once it arrives. So I will let you know how that goes. I also spoke to my mum who suggested Slippery Elm. I checked and that is considered safe to take during pregnancy. So maybe these might be worth a try for you both.
If anyone has any other ideas then please share.
I agree I do not want to take any drugs if I can avoid them.

I found a cognac amber necklace really helped my reflux and mood swings

I had this terrible for my three. This time I downed so many Renee tablets but occasionally found relief with ice cold watermelon from the fridge .

The best thing that worked for me (though I only got very mild heartburn and very rarely) was fruit tingles! They really eased the discomfort. Not exactly natural, but definitely not a drug

Yep fruit tingles here too. Bicarb soda mixed with water also helps, although it doesn't taste all that nice

Ooo I like that solution :-). I wonder if Wizz Fizz would do a similar thing?
