I am jumping in the deep end and making DS birthday cake this time around.
Usually I get one made, but this time I am going to attempt it myself.
It's going to be a Transformers themed cake, and I'm still deciding whether to just ice the whole cake or use fondant.
But what is they best type of cake to use as a base?
I was looking at the Betty Crocker mud cake mix, but it looks like it's not a really "high" cake as such.
I only need to feed 10 kids, so I think a standard 8 inch would do.
I will be making matching cupcakes for them to take home too, so they will be just a normal cupcake mix with icing.
But it's the actual cake that I'm unsure of??
