She didnt defend slipper. She said she was very offended by his texts, but would not get rid of him permanently just yet. Not until the courts have finished with him.
She wants the courts to deal with him first so that ALL the info will be out there for everyone to access. THEN she will make a decision. Though Im sure she will fire him in the end. If she doesnt than she knows she can kiss her political career goodbye.

So, yes. Of course Gillard supported Slipper. That was what the debate was about.
I can't believe the Minister for the Status of Women voted against this motion. It doesn't make any sense at all. "Hypocrites" is all I can say.
