We chose early November for a few reasons:

    - weather is not too hot, not too cold, and less likely to be windy
    - it gave us a year to plan after we became engaged
    - it's less popular than say March/April or Sept/Oct, so there was more choice in terms of making bookings
    - it was a time of year where guests are more likely to be free to attend (well before Xmas, not in school holidays etc)
    - during daylight savings

We had late January for a few different reasons: Mainly

    - It was uni holidays
    - Not too close to Christmas/new year and was when school went back, so guests were no longer away on summer holidays
    - This made our honeymoon nicer - no holidaying families with noisy kids so it was more relaxing.
    - Our whole wedding was held outside so we needed warm weather
    - We know January is always going to be hot - so we planned for it being hot! - The weather in Jan is pretty consistent (unlike spring/autumn where it can be warm one day, freezing the next!).

Ideally I probably would have chosen a day in early March (still warm but not as hot as summer) however uni was back and wasn't an option. January was good - not as busy as the months surrounding it so we were more easily able to book our venues/suppliers etc. It was hot that day - esp at the ceremony (late afternoon), but everyone was in the shade on grass and we provided a heap of cold drinks at it so it was fine, and the hot day made for a pleasant balmy evening for our outside reception. Perfect.

Default Why did you choose your wedding date?

DH said "we should get married one of these days, been engaged for a while."
I nodded. Looked up how much notice you need to give and discovered our anniversary occurred just a few days after the minimum amount of notice thing. So we got married on our anniversary.

No real reason for April other than it was a long weekend and school holidays too

We wanted a public holiday weekend so now every wedding anniv we either have a long weekend or the whole day off together the next day!

We have chosen November 2013 because that's the only time that a couple of DP family members can make
