Default Preparing baby nursery - washing walls??

Okay this is going to sound so stupid but I just wanted to see what others think. Apologies if this is in the wrong section, I wasn't sure where to post.

Did anyone here wash down the walls in the room they turned into a nursery? I was talking to my Mum about preparing the spare room for bubs arrival and she was all like "so don't forget to wash down the walls", am I wrong or is that totally over the top? Or is it something everyone does and I'm out of the loop? I'll obviously clean the room, like vacuum and dust etc, but washing walls? Don't people only do that when moving or painting?

If you're painting them then yes but otherwise no- unless they are very dirty.

We did with DS. We sugar soap the walls and cleaned EVERYTHING in the house. Probably part of my nesting...
DD is due in few days and i am not washing the walls this time round because shes going to be in our room, but everything else, yes! Lol

I did but that was because 1 wall was brick and I was worried about the dust that had settled there. Then because I had done 1 wall it felt wrong not doing all. But I think I was also nesting really badly then as i then went on to do the same in the whole apartment we were living in at the time.

I would if it was a rental property, or the walls are dirty!!!
