    Default mega freaking itchy legs

alrighty bubhub, doctor google has failed me on this one.

I've recently started getting mega itchy legs after I shower....to the point that I'm in tears and begging someone to just amputate my legs.

Environmentally nothing changed (soaps, washing powders, moisturisers) with the onset but I've been making my way through different moisturisers (tea tree lotion helped for a few days) and different soaps (on goats milk at the moment) to see if anything will relieve it. The only thing that relieves it instantly is just running water over them or putting pressure on them with towels etc and the main itch goes away after a couple of hours but lingers for the rest of the day (but not enough to impact on my day). There's no rash or bumps and I haven't shaved in ages.... (slack I know) so I know that's not the cause...

I'm seeing my GP on Tuesday anyway, but does anyone have any suggestions for the cause or anything that might help?

Take an antihistamine (like Claratyne, Zyrtec, Demazin, etc). If the itching disappears or eases with the antihistamine, it is probably an allergy to something. Could be food-related or even drugs/supplements, or an environmental change you've overlooked.

Also, if the itching is mostly around the hip & thigh area (not the lower legs) it may be a toxin issue and should have your liver and bowels checked.

i would ditch any soap, moisturiser etc. just use water and towel dry for a while.
i'd ask for bloods from the gp too - as justshiney said it may be an imbalance of some sort.
