GPS Tracking ...

After watching a news story on realtime GPS tracking, I did a quick google search to see how common it really was and was surprised and how easily you can tracking someones GPS enabled phone.

Would you install an app on your spouses phone to track them? Or your children? Employees?

Nope not on my spouse! I trust him and I trust him to be able to look after himself. I wouldn't mind if my partner wanted to track me, I've nothing to hide

What!? Average people really do that? I'd feel creeped out if someone I knew admitted to disrespecting another persons privacy. Even though I have nothing to hide, anyone who tried it would cop a serving. But that's the thing, isn't it? You'd never know.

No freaking way! I hate the way people are tracked on facebook etc - it's creepy the idea of people knowing your movements or wanting people to know your movements. I really wonder if this generation of technology users see the ramifications sometimes of these kinds of apps etc on facebook or just see them purely as the norm and part of self promotion.

I think maybe it wouldn't be such a terribly horrid thing.
Tbh, I'm all for a tracking chip being put in people at birth.
Sounds weird and nanny statish, but what I mean by it is only the government/protective services, etc, would be able to find you if need be. I think it's a really good idea.

We know someone whose partner tracks him and he knows it. He is a cheater and she knows it. Why she doesn't kick him to the curb I don't know. But when he is gonna meet up with someone he will leave his phone at a male friends house to go to some girls house.that way it appears he is at an approved mates place.

Would I track DP? It would be handy to know if he had left work. but in reality I dunno.

my partner installed one on my phone without me knowing!! when i did find it i flipped out!! i went crazy!! i was sooooo freaking angry!!! NO i didnt have anything what so ever to hide i was more angry at the fact that it felt like he didnt trust me
needless to say that came to a stop quick smart!!

DH and I have just installed it on our phones. He hates it when I ring to see if he's left work to see if I should keep the kids up or not. Because if he is running late he is going flat out trying to get out of there for bedtime. So meh, works for us.
