My cakes are seriously amateur... but I suppose it's more about the love I put into them for my kids, rather than how spectacular I am (not) at decorating them.

They are all amazing cakes! This is a cake I made for my nephews first birthday. First time I used fondant. But hard to see because of the glad wrap.ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1384808388.713583.jpg

    That looks great!!
I struggle with fondant so prefer to use buttercream icing.
Your DS will love his cake!

It's better than my first attempt with fondant, first time I didn't cover the cake just cut out a shape to make this skyrim cake for dp's birthday last year and used black frosting, very messy ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1384809534.617330.jpg
The cake was yummo though, rum & choc mud cake mmm

I made marshmallow fondant and it was just a mess!
And thanks BT - DS asked for it and I did my best!

I haven't made a birthday cake yet but am so looking forward to being able to have fun with it when little munchkin is born.

All of the cakes are amazing! Very talented hubbers. The only cake i have taken pics of is the cake i made for my best friends baby shower. First time i have ever used fondant.
