I am left in the erm...not nice position of having to find a BRAND NEW carer for my boys as their second one in 5 months has pulled out.
To cut a long story short, they were in a FDC one day a week while their father was still off work, to ensure they would be given the other 3 days when he went back to work. She then changed her mind, and decided she wouldn't take them on any more days as they are due to go to kinder next year and she wouldn't make as much money. She is entitledy to make money, but when she knew she was putting us in a dodgy position by giving us 1 week to find care 4 days a week I was more than cranky.
Fortunately SIL came through with contact at her school- a SAHM was interested in starting in FDC, but agreed to Mummy-Nanny my boys and it was working out beautifully- she even commented last week that the boys had finally gotten over their shyness and she was able to see their true personalities.
Their book shows lots of photos doing some fun activities with lots of positive comments. I got an email out of the blue last week saying she can't continue any more because her two year old was upset at having to share her.
So here I am again, feeling upset for my boys that they have to go through building a relationship with yet another stranger, and completely stressed because I just don't think I am going to find anyone in two weeks. (I go back to work in two weeks after school holidays)
I don't know the best place to search, what I should be looking for or asking, since the previous two carers have both fallen through I just feel like the world is a bit against me.
They can't go into the centres- no positions available. All the FDC's don't start until 8:30 when I need to leave at 7:30... so I really need to find a Mummy- Nanny or similar!?
Help would be greatly appreciated!!

Have you called the FDC & asked if they will take them earlier?
My FDC advertises 0800 start but takes DD from 0730?

Yes. I called, the director inquired, and called back to say definitely not before 8:30

oh no
There is that 'find a baby-sitter' website that shows all the nannys available in your area, that might be worth a go?
I think there is also a 'nanny-share' service available?
