It's horrendously complex as there are about 8 stages of getting it installed & connected to the grid and it seems there is a different department or company to do most of the stages and they don't talk to each other readily. Depending on the state you are in you get differing amounts of money for electricity you generate for the grid. It used to be 66c in Victoria, but was dropped to 25c about a year ago and I think it's now minimal (under 10c) or even nothing as of mid-September. So, money 'made' by solar power manufactured by solar panels manufacturer for people who were connected 2 years ago is different to what you would get now.

I think it's a great concept, but the reality for us was less than ideal to put it mildly.
Personally I am not huge fan of solar power..It is bit expensive and in our region not enough sunshine is available..

Im in Canberra and bought a 3.5kw system last year for $6000. I'm making about $1200 a year. All States and plans are different. I went to the main power supplier in the ACT and probably paid a bit more but it's a minefield of solar companies so I wanted one that would still be around in 10 years.

I looked at the title and then thought ''oh I don't even remember starting this thread''! lol. I'm still curious tho. I haven't done anything about it yet... so if anyone has any answers that would be good.
