    Default Hairy armpits

Was just doing an exercise DVD and one of the female helpers had big hairy armpits... Not just the 'forgot to shave for a few days' variety either.

Gag! I just think its dirty and unhygenic. Not to mention too manly.

Or have times changed and hairy armpits are now 'in'?
Or do people really not notice/care?

If shaving is for cleanliness or hygiene reasons, then why don't men shave their arm pits?

Meh doesn't bother me if a woman wants to be in her natural state... I fail to see how its 'unhygenic and dirty'...

Because they don't mind being stinky and shaving is considered too feminine..

I suffer from random sweats due to some health issues and I have to admit that if I don't keep my arms shaved I do seem to sweat more and will have to shower more as well I can get a bit stinky after a bad episode (I don't normally smell LOL).

Or is underarm hair like a foreskin: It's there for a purpose and cutting it is wrong?

I'm definitely not a fan of it, but I hate most body hair anyway! I get itchy if I leave it a few days between shaving underarms, couldn't handle it any longer then that!

    From Wikipedia:

Underarm hair, as human body hair, normally starts to appear at the beginning of puberty, with growth usually completed by the end of the teen-age years. The evolutionary significance of human underarm hair is still debated. It may naturally wick sweat or other moisture away from the skin, aiding in maintaining good ventilation. Colonization by odor-producing bacteria is thereby transferred away from the skin (see skin flora).[1] Underarm hair may also provide a natural anti-friction quality between the upper arm and the thorax.[citation needed]. A more controversial view is that it may facilitate the release of sexual-attractant pheromones from the underarm.[citation needed]
