    Default IVF Frat Twins question..

Wondering how similar fraternal twins will look if the egg and sperm came from the same batch. We don't know the sex of the twins yet.

    1) Does each egg and sperm have their own DNA even though they were from the same batch?

    2) Does anyone have Fraternal twins from PICSI IVF (rather than regular IVF or ICSI)? Do they look similar? What are their genders?

    Default IVF Frat Twins question..

Each embryo will have its own DNA. They will not look identical. Even though they came from the same batch, each egg and each sperm are different.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are Fraternal twins and they look identical! This doesn't answer your question and I don't think they are IVF but I think it's really interesting

    Default IVF Frat Twins question..

Sone research suggests that if the egg splits before day 4 then the twins can in some cases be identical but have their own sac etc so be classed as fraternal. In some cases the twins were tested and their DNA 99% matched. So there are possibilities

My sister and I are fraternal twins and we look almost identical. We weren't conceived via ivf though.

Siblings can look nearly exactly the same too. My Dh looks just like his brother. They are 4 years apart. When we were first dating I had to double check a few times when we were all together. Well not really but sort of.

Hmm mixed responses. We transferred two embryo's so most likely both stuck. Will be interesting to see the two bubs when they are born.
