    Default RANT! Clean house?

Love this. I also get criticized!!! I've even been told I'm OCD and a control freak from people who don't like to keep their houses tidy.
Just because I'm neat and tidy (most of the time!) does not make me have OCD or be titled a control freak. Yes my house usually looks like a display home but we paid/pay a lot for it and our furniture and I love it when it looks like a magazine.
I hate the criticism. I once walked into someone's house and had to step over dirty nappies lying on the floor!! Gross gross gross.

I guess most of us with messy houses would think it is a total massive compliment to have your house described like a show home. Something I will never have happen, not even with my cleaner!

The title clearly states "vent". If people are putting down something she takes great pride in, as she says she does, I can't understand why people are being judgy mcjudgypants at her for it, if that makes sense?

Edit: Was wrong. It says Rant. Oops. Lol. Still.

Meh. Some days (like today, I'm having the girls over for a drink tonight), my house looks awesome. Other days (i.e the most days), it's in a state of disarray. It's never too bad, but I doubt anyone would ever compare it to a showroom, unless it's an advertisment for reasons not to have children . I don't care much, it's cleanish, it's livable and my friends wouldn't care at all if they came over and it wasn't pristine. They would probably be confused and assume I had been replaced with a Stepford Wife tbh.

    Default RANT! Clean house?

I like a neat and tidy house, but sometimes 2 kids, working 3 days and being pregnant gets in the way. I do my big clean on Saturdays. During the week, the washing up gets done and the kitchen and bathrooms are cleaned during the week, everything else is done on weekend.

My house is often a mess, i find it hard to keep on top of mess as my kids are so good at undoing what i tidy up. Some days it looks great, other days a absolute mess (like today as i'm ill so cleaning is not happening).
I don't care what other people houses look like, a bit of mess makes feel better about my home and really clean makes me think 'good on them, wish i could achieve this'. I love neat houses, i feel more relaxed in them (unless it is super show home shiny - then i feel a little scared of 'ruining' it just by being there)
I would be bothered if there was a dead rat being eaten by cockroaches in the kitchen - that's when i'd be all judgmental and leave immediately.

If you're too clean people are judgey, too messy - judgey, whatever............
I think as long as it doesn't impact on your life either way who cares. Personally we have neighbors who are a great source of amusement to me, who spends the WHOLE day washing and cleaning their car??!! If we dare to mow during this time of car washing all of a sudden the auto door goes up and the car goes into the garage like a little rat scurrying away Lol.
Once one of my kids went to 'visit' and play with their child who was around the same age and when he got back I asked how it was, he said he had to wash his feet before he went inside to play (which were not dirty!!) I laughed so much

People who don't wipe up spills or clean up obvious food mess - ick!
I agree! My house is always clean, but there's usually always something to 'tidy' be it toys lying around, clean washing to be put away in drawers and cupboards, little things like that.

For me, it's not a happy house. It makes me uncomfortable and miserable and upset.

Edit: And yes, will judge the living buggery out of anyones house that has dishes stacked nearly to the ceiling and covered in mould, dog poo all over the floor, dead mice in their childrens beds and dirty nappies lining the entire hallway of their house.
And yes, I do know someone like this, and if they said such a thing to me, I would be GREATLY offended.
Thank you! This is exactly my point.. Like I previously said, I'm not talking about people with a bit of mess, but the people whose house you wouldn't want to use a cup from
