    Default RANT! Clean house?

I don't mind a little mess laying around but I absolutely can't STAND filth. I have to vacuum and clean the bathrooms and do the dishes and all that stuff but if there's a pile of clothes in a corner (or on the lounge) it doesn't bother me - ill clean it up in due time, always before I have someone over and stuff. Messy houses aren't always happy but sometimes you can't do everything lol. I can't stand going to my friends house, she always says 'sorry about the mess' doesn't clean it ever and the place is filthy. I know she has two kids but she and her df just sit on the couch on fb complaining that their house is grot... That's not cool, like I wouldn't think anything if they made an effort and then the kids undo it but to be lazy and complain then tell me that my place is so 'fancy' and then get jealous? No..

Ugh, why have people in your home who will criticize it. However you decide to keep it, only invite in those who respect that choice I reckon.

"But contrarian voices can be heard in the wilderness. An anti-anticlutter movement is afoot, one that says yes to mess and urges you to embrace your disorder. Studies are piling up that show that messy desks are the vivid signatures of people with creative, limber minds (who reap higher salaries than those with neat “office landscapes”) and that messy closet owners are probably better parents and nicer and cooler than their tidier counterparts. It’s a movement that confirms what you have known, deep down, all along: really neat people are not avatars of the good life; they are humorless and inflexible prigs, and have way too much time on their hands."
Omg that is the funniest thing I've ever read! Now I know why my DH has a high income, and I'm such a good, 'cool' mum!

Well if your big pet peeve right now is people think you are too clean then I think you should be pretty pleased..
Personally I am an extremely chaotic messy person. It is so hard for me to keep **** tidy and organised. My job involves a lot of paperwork, large amounts of time spent looking online, in books, making phone calls.. and that all has to be done in my teeny tiny office space. I also have two kids and study two courses part time. And I'm also the type of parent who likes to help out at the kids school when I can, have play dates, do crafts and painting with my kids and always have some project going on. I also live in a small shack.. so yeah my house is messy and disorganised. Don't get me wrong, the floors get swept daily.. the dishes done before bed.. the laundry gets cleaned and thrown on a large pile of other clean washing to be folded.. one day.. we clean the toilet and shower when we are in there and the rubbish doesn't spill over to the floor.
I should probably be cleaning right now but instead I'm enjoying a cup of tea and watching my kids play/bubhubbing after a day at work. I don't think a messy home is always a happy home but Thats how it is for us. Having a pristine house is not a priority.

That sounds like a good atmosphere when it's not filthy and in the way of everything then I see absolutely nothing wrong with it

My house is pretty clean and one of my kids has constant ear infections. That's it, I'm letting it all go and we'll see if the germiness helps clear her ear infections up, cause I'm desperate and will try just about anything

People who don't wipe up spills or clean up obvious food mess - ick!

Just while were on the topic... After two weeks of constant exhaustion that just wouldnt let up, I finally reclaimed my house from the mess monster that had taken up residence in it.

I need a life is I find this to be the most thrilling thing to happen to me in a while. Lol.
