Best not to even discuss potential names with anybody. Or to really get up her goat tell her your naming it a name she likes then when he pops out name him something you like.

We would decide then say "this is the name we like it for this reason." no one ever questioned them.

That's why no-one knows the name of our kids until we send out an sms saying they've been born, their weight and their name. Too late to complain then...unless they're extremely rude!

Think of the most outrageous name you can and tell people that is the name
We kept names a secret until our daughter was born. Stops criticism, and is a nice surprise for everyone. Make sure your dh doesn't tell MIL the names as well
