As a general rule, I would say it isnt abuse, but given what happened to the babies mother, I think it just might be a good idea to apologise for the harsh reaction, and explain to her why you reacted that way.
I think ppl are very quick to scream abuse and these accusations stick forever, so you just have to be careful.
