    Default New to clomid

DH & I have been TTC for 11mths with no success. I have endo & had a lap in July. We saw a fs yday and he has prescribed 100mg of clomid to be taken on cd5-9. He has given us the option of having an ultrasound at cd12 and an ovidrel injection or just dtd every 2nd day from cd14-24. We are only trying clomid for 4mths. As I am new to clomid & ovidrel I am wondering if anyone has any advice on what I can expect... side effects, best time to take it, success stories, pros & cons of ovidrel. Thank you in anticipation!!

I have been on Clomid, so I can only tell you about that, but for me it wasn't great, I was only on 25mg, but the first month was really bad cramping, heavy Af and every PMS symptom under the sun!

It worked in the end though, so it was worth it, but it isn't all that nice!

You have to take it at the same time each day, I took it at 9pm every night.

I would take all the support you can to help time your BD, I only had 21 day BT's but if you can get any kind of scan to see you O day it will really help.

    Good Luck and

I was originally prescribed 25mg (2 cycles) and currently on my first cycle of 50mg. It hasn't been too bad for me, but I can definitely tell the difference with the dizziness and hot flushes. I was just thankful I didn't get the cramping.

I'd take the ultrasound - that way you'll know exactly how well your egg is forming and when the trigger day will be. Removes a bit of the guess work (but also removes the romance when you get given set days to BD!)

I was lucky and didn't get any side effects with clomid.

I did 6 rounds of clomid and 2 rounds of FSH injections and am now pregnant with our first, so hope your journey is as successful. Good luck
