Default This dress (colour) ok for wedding?

I don't get it .. If your buying it to wear to your DS's baptism why is the lady saying it might not be suitable to wear to a wedding .. Have I missed something?

Edit- DERR didn't read the topic title!

Lovely dress, I wouldn't wear it to a wedding though.

I'm a bit old fashioned but I think white/cream should be reserved for the bride on her day.

Other than that, I think it's OK.
I think it's a lovely dress and besides, you're going to be wearing some black and gold to break it up anyway.
Umm, Pippa was dressed by Kate, the bride.

Sorry, but I am another that doesn't like guests wearing creams/whites to weddings.

    .
yeah that's my point! Kate didn't mind that she wore white/cream.

Anyway, each to their own. I wouldn't care what colour dress my guests wore at my wedding.

Yes, it's for ds's baptism but I also have a wedding coming up.
Should i ask the bride or she might say ok to be polite?
How would I go about dying it, I wouldn't want to do it myself?!
When you see the dress IRL you can see more of the gold shimmer in the fabric. Hard to explain, maybe I'll take a close up pic later.
I have another dress in mind for the wedding (royal blue) if I don't wear this one.

Ps: I just remembered that my mum wore a cream dress/suit to my wedding and I never thought twice about it!

Depends on the bride, but unless you want to ask I wouldn't wear it.

Whites/creams are normally just for the bride, but I know from previous bub hb threads lots of people have think wearing those colours is just fine.

Personally, I'm old school and think you shouldn't, and I was a bit upset when I friend wore cream to my wedding.

If you want to wear it then wear it. It's a lovely dress and it's definitely more like a light gold than a cream.

My only hesitation is if she is going to be wearing a shorter, shift-like dress. But the invite should indicate a dress code and whether that is likely to be the case.
