Please bare in mind that there are women on this forum who have had to make this choice (I myself am NOT one), and sarcastic comments like this are not only hurtful but unecessary no matter the reasoning behind their choice.

Well let me rephrase. Of course women can choose to have an abortion. But I don't know how anyone can actually be 'happy' about such a development. Perhaps there are other words that better describe peoples feelings?

Yes totally agree. I had a friend who had to make the choice. Her life or that of her unborn baby. She chose to try and save her life for the sake of her existing daughter. You see chemo and radiotherapy don't bode well with a pregnancy. Unfortunately even with her hard work and huge fight she lost her battle with cancer and was heartbroken to have had to take the life of an unborn baby and to leave her daughter behind.

It does upset me that some people can be quite blind to the reasons of why some people make that unbelievably impossible decision.

ETA. I also say this finger pointing to people I know who are not on here but have such strong views that they are so blinded by the black and white of it.

    Great!

There are "rules" for this method anyway, even when prescribed more freely.

I don't know why we shouldn't be happy?

Its a difficult topic and one I've struggled to come to a decision on. That being said I'm against abortion in all cases except for severe medical issues (eg mothers life at risk).

I would not criticise a rape victim for chosing this route though as they are in the middle of an impossibly horrid situation. I just can't describe this abortion pill 'development' as a happy one.

I am happy that there are more choices available for women who don't want to or can't continue a pregnancy.

Good news for women I think as its much less invasive. It freaks me out that someone died using it in Australia though.
