My DD is 6 months old and has just gotten sick for the first time and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on how to help her through.
She cries a lot more than usual, she's not drinking as much, won't settle in her cot in the day (making feeds and sleeps near impossible) and wakes up a lot more at night from the pain.
I had her sleep on my lap at lunch time today as she just cried and cried, no matter what I did with her. It took her 10 minutes of me holding her before she even stopped crying.
I also wonder if my rocking her to sleep when she wakes at night (it's the only way to get her to sleep again), will mean she will get used to it and once she's better, I would have set up a negative sleep association given that before she was unwell she was self settling and only waking once or twice for a feed and self settling at other times in the night. is there any way I can avoid this? What have others done!?
