Measured the size of your uterus. You will have it done at every appointment. It's to make sure bubs is growing etc.

He's measuring your "fundal height" which is just the measurement of your uterus to see the growth of your baby.

They are checking the size against due date. As good as the ultrasound is it can be wrong. I also think they are checking how big the baby is. This is my understanding but someone lose here might correct me.

when you went private, did your obs do regular ultrasounds? some obs prefer the machine that goes ping to actually touching women.

Default why did the dr measure my tummy?

I heard the fundal height should be about the same as the amount of weeks you are. I was measuring 2cms ahead so am told I'm having a big baby. So at 30 weeks your fundus should be around 30cm. Mine was 32 cm at 30 weeks.

I don't know why they bother measuring fundal height, my OB doesn't.
It's a really inaccurate way of being able tell how big your baby is or if you are matching dates.
