Using health as an excuse is bull.

It's great that they have bigger people on tv however it's a shame that is only a few shows and usually it's the token fat person rather than a lot of people all different sizes.
    ^^^^ this

I think it great to see people of all sizes on tv

The only issue I have is that most tv shows seem to have lots of really thin women, with an obese woman thrown in to be politically correct or something like that. And there seems to be a huge lack of average sized women. The show that sticks out to me is 'drop dead diva' about a large lady who is a lawyer. Yes she is smart, sexy, confident etc etc but why does everyone else on the show have to be really skinny?

I couldn't give a rats. People come in all shapes and sizes, including actors/actresses and TV presenters.

I'm not sure what the concern would be?

I dont mind it so much..
I hate how obese people are always funny though..
    I wasnt funny when I was big.. I was a big grump...lol.

I take more offence that they let ugly people on TV.. I should not have to look at that..

Hm i am curious as to what people class as skinny, who is too skinny in which show? I don't recall seeing a sickly thin person is any shows of late.

One show in particular with a big woman that I don't think is a good look is the red headed chick on 'winners and losers' she really bugs me but at least I still watch it because I love the show but Dh won't.

Who cares what they look like I say, you either like a show or you don't and is anyone really influenced by the actors they see on TV? As someone else said, I'm not sure why it would matter.

I care if they are only on a show to be bullied for being fat. I also detest seeing people smoking (like its cool) on tv/movies.

I would have to say it bothers me more to see sickly thin people on tv but you never know what their situation is so I try not to judge.

I think its good to have a variety of body types on tv. I don't think all tv shows should be "setting a good example" anyway. I like realistic shows too.
