My cousin is an Edward but only ever called Ned. I think Ned is an awesome name!

I think with classic names like Edward, the Twilight connection is meh. It's not like the only place the name Edward has ever appeared! I love Teddy for a nickname

I've read Twilight, and I don't think of Twilight first thing anyway.

I chose a classic name for DS, with an unusual nickname. Now I get "are you a Buffy fan?". No, never seen it.

As a PP said, someone is always going to have a name association, whichever you choose.

That's true actually. Each name you can't win. Dd is Amity and everyone mentions the various films like jaws, amity ville horror etc. it's such a pretty name.

Ds's name is the same. People think is it from golden compas, hamlet (Shakespeare) etc

No we loved their names and they have no association except we loved them.

I know an 8 year old boy called Eddie and a 12 year old called Ned - both short for Edward.

Maybe you could wait and see what bubs look like and what you feel suits him, Eddie, Ted or Ned all are lovely.

Not a Twilight fan here either so I didn't make the connection to Edward, I just think it is a timeless name and love that you can choose your own nn from it.
