    I'm not a big fan of the name itself but prefer it being used as a girls name.
    I worked with a girl about 10 or so years ago whose name was Charlie. That was it... it wasn't a shorten version of anything.

    I love Charlie as a girls name. I know a little Charlie, her name isnt shortened from anything and it suits her so well.

    I like it for a little girl but don't think it works for when they are older. I like Charlize with Charlie as a nn so then they have an option as an adult.

    Thanks for the responses everyone. I haven't come across a Charlie (adult or child), so didn't realise it was so popular at the moment.

    We are using Charlotte for a girl, but DH calls her Charli already!! I love both names!!

    My daughter (16 months) is Charlee and we get compliments on how nice it is all the time. I've wanted it ever since I was 17.... I still think its such a cool name for a girl

    I think it is gorgeous, I've known 2 girl Charlie's - one spelt Charli. Go for it!
