Default What does rainbow baby mean?

Excuse my ignorance but I see a lot of posts about 'rainbow babies' and I'm just wondering what that means.

    thanks

Or a baby conceived after loss

It has different meaning, in my case it's what LL said!

I never knew it could be a baby after loss

I just always assume the child of same gender parents...learn something new everyday....

ETA I always thought it was same sex parents as 'rainbow children' is the term given to children of same sex couples...there was even a float at mardi gras for them in the late 90's and early 2000's for rainbow children...

I always thought it was a baby who has been doing a lot of finger painting.

Yeah I think baby conceived after loss is more the meaning in America. We have a group of same-sex parents with kids called Rainbow Babies here though

ETA: if I'm preg in March I want to paint a rainbow on my belly and walk in the Rainbow Kids parade at Mardi Gras.
