At the moment about $14,000 but we are selling hubbies car so it will be gone in a few days

Oh we have a CC but we drain that each month and hubbies pay pays it off + a few $1000 so not really a debt.

eta I should probably add we don't own a house, we rent and are saving for a deposit.

I am in the process of paying off my consumer debt- $1500 personal loan and $1200 credit card.
I'm paying off the smaller debt first, which in this case also has the highest interest, and making the minimum repayments on the other loan (well I round up so it's meant to be $93 per fortnight but I pay $100.)
I'm trying to pay off $100 per week on the credit card, which should see me pay it off in 4 months at the longest when I factor in interest etc.
Then I will pay the $100 per week plus the $100 per fortnight on the loan and by that stage it should only be for 2 months.

I also have a HECS debt of about $15,000.

    My mortgage is about $265,000.

I'm sorry you have had such a hard time I hate having debt hanging over my head!!

We have just finished paying off a car loan and all credit card debt now we are about to have a mortgage.

DH had a debt (12k) when we first got together 6 years ago then we added another 30k car loan and had about 10k credit card debt over that period (never more then 3-4k at a time)

So we are only now debt free 6 years later

    I hate debt
I actually worked mine out (yesterday) and made a payment plan and in 2 years I will be debt free yay it will be tight but I'm really excited at the idea of it all being paid

Mines a lot less than 37000 though (hugs)

I have $5,000 debt left from when exDH and I were still together. I paid a majority of it with my tax refund. Hopefully it will be paid off within the next year or so.
