Mortgage is only debt. We just started again after doing extensions. Our mortgage went up a lot, but by my calculations, we can have it paid off in 10 years.

So sorry to hear. I hope things improve for you.

We don't have any debt .
We have a new car but it's leased through DH's work. So I guess it's not a debt as such.
No credit cards, mortgage or loans.

Approx 10 grand. I consolidated a car and credit card loan and cut up my credit card.

I just upped the repayments recently , I'm so over it. It's 16 percent interest though as its unsecured.

$35k thanks to a vindictive XH.

My goal is to pay it off when the former matrimonal home sells which hopefully will be before Christmas. Then I'm all set up for a comfortable financial situation - until I buy another house LOL

I'm sorry you've had such a hard year.

We have a mortgage. My DH runs a business which has a credit card and car loan...but I don't count them as 'our debt'.

We have been in and out of debt for years. Sometimes it's a necessary evil to deal with your circumstances at the time. It's a great idea to pay it off as quickly as possible so you can get on top and start saving instead.

None, I even have money in the bank (my car is owned outright). I would like to have my own house though, so a mortgage would be a good debt to have.

When I was 20 - 25 I had a car loan and it was the worst feeling. I hate having 'consumer debt' and avoid it at all costs.

I had heaps of debt $17k car loan and about $12k in credit card debt from leaving the abusive ex and ending up homeless for 6 months. When i finally got somewhere to live i got a job then a second job a few months later. I was working a minimum of 50 hours a week. It took me about 2 years to wipe out all debt and save some money but i finally got there in the end.
