Default Vitex while breastfeeding for ttc?

Anyone have experience in this situation?

Ds is only 7 months so not planning to do anything just yet but we'd like to be pregnant again late '12/early '13.

Ds loves his solids (blw) but still feeds 11-12 times a day; including 2-4 times overnight. I don't think I'm going to be one of those fertility goddesses who can get pregnant with a baby attached every other hour, lol! I don't have any indications of being fertile again (as of yet), so basically just want some information for when the time comes if I'm still nowhere near fertile. I don't want to wean ds to get pregnant.

    Did I make sense?

Thanks to anyone who can comment

I took Vitex when we were ttc. I'm pretty sure the label says not to take if you THINK you're pregnant, or after you've ovulated, incase you're pregnant.... in my mind I'd assume that makes it unsafe for taking during breastfeeding too....

I'd be consulting a professional on that.

I'd also think that by breastfeeding you're probably not as fertile as you could be, although I know a few people who've gotten preg while bfing. I'd maybe give yourself a few months to get preg, and if not, maybe wean bub after he's 12 months and give yourself a proper go at ttc'ing.

Can't comment on vitex but I had my first bubs via IVF after years of TTC then fell pregnant while bfing when DS1 was 11 months. Didn't even get AF...didn't even know I was pregnant. So, yep, even those of us who aren't fertility goddesses can still get pregnant. And at 37 no less.
