Smile Blood tests and strange period. Help please.

    Hi

I gave a few blood tests from my fertility specialist that are supposed to be taken On the second day of my cycle.

I normally have a 30 day cycle, I'm up to day 40 today, have had brown spotting the last 3 days today I had some fresh blood but only when I wiped. But now there is nothing has been nothing for the last 6 hours.

Am I counting this as my first day and get the test done tomorrow?
And if I'm not counting this as my first day what happens if I just spot for ever (exaggeration I know)
Because the FS said it needs to be done on the second day, what if I get them wrong and the tests are messed up.

Last cycle I went to 36 days this time I'm at 40, these last two cycles are abnormal for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Haven 't even started on the assisted TTC path yet and I'm pulling my hair out :/

My FS clinic didn't count day 1 of my cycle until I bled enough to use a pad or tampon. Perhaps give your clinic/doctor a call and check with what they old like you to do.

Is it normal to call up and ask things?

My clinic says heavy bleeding before midday, to be considered CD1. If it's afternoon or evening then next day is CD1.

Hmm, well I'm thinking that they'll say not to count today as day 1 by what everyone has said. But I'll ring to make sure.

Thanks for you all helping me sort it out, it all gets stressful and even a small thing as a blood test seems high stakes and it's all over analyzed to the point I have no idea what I'm on about anymore.

Yes!! I called my clinic all the time whenever I had questions about tests, meds etc. They are used to it!

I'm doing a tracking cycle at the moment and I was in the same situation as you in the beginning. I had spotting for 3-4 days then little bit of blood on day 4 so went in the next day for CD2 bloods but by that morning no real AF. They did the test but after the results came in they just said i was too early and to come back in 2 days, my progesterone was still too high to be day 2. Then the next day I got AF really heavy so went back the day after that... Now I'm waiting for AF again and have been spotting for 6 days now :/
It seems your body never behaves when we need it too!
Contact your clinic but it doesn't hurt if your a bit early ?
    Goodluck!

I rang them today and they said to count today as the first day as i have had a heavy flow today. So fingers crossed all the blood tests come back good.

It's strange how you sort of want something to be wrong so your not just in limbo land.

Thanks again everyone for your help
