Thanks for the tips about chilli. I LOVE spicy food & notice if I have lots of chilli in my dinner that bubs kicks like crazy shortly after :-)

I am also interested in this. How about garlic or caffeine? I read about certain foods 'changing' the 'taste' of milk? And upset baby?

How about smoked salmon? Okay during breastfeeding?

During pregnancy, we have to be really careful with our foods, it wont be much fun if it has to go beyond birth and breastfeeding.

I've always eaten anything. I could never work out if what I ate made them unsettled anyway!

I've heard apparently breast fed babies when introducing solids tend to be less fussy because breast milk does taste different, it changes, but formula always tastes the same.

I wouldn't worry about your diet effecting bub unless you observe that it's effecting bub. Then look into it.

You can finally go back to eating what you'd like prior to pregnancy Something's can react with bub.. With DD4 I had to stop having dairy and Pepsi max otherwise she would vomit constantly..

Mind altering foods and drinks (aka drugs) should be avoided or at least approached with caution. eg caffeine guanine magic mushrooms alcohol energy drinks etc. otherwise food should be fine for the vast majority of babies. If your baby has a digestive problem (like reflux etc) then its definitely worth keeping a food diary and trialling cutting out suspect foods.

    This.

My bub had bad reflux so I cut out tomatoes, chocolate, caffeine, onion, garlic, cabbage, broccoli. Unfortunately that was just the tip of the iceberg of my breastfeeding problems, I wasn't lucky enough to have a bub with no issues who took to bf'ing well.

Unless your bub has specific issues you can eat whatever you like and however spicy/chilli it is

Thank god or I would have quit bf very quickly.
