Default Omg I feel so sick!!! Vent

So I've been feeling tired and run down for a few weeks now but just put it down to being a full time working mum.
Had a bit of a sore throat on Wednesday last week but by the early hours of Thursday morning I had the chills, a temp of 40 and achy all over.

Doc ran some tests and it turns out I have glandular fever
I feel so sick it's not even funny!! I've had it twice before but never this bad. Doc said that in itself is unusual as most people become immune after having it once. He thinks there must be an underlying immune issue so want to do further tests once I feel better.

And no one gets just how bad this virus makes you feel!! The boys are in daycare today but would usually be looked after by my inlaws tomorrow and Wednesday but mil doesn't want to have them now coz I'll be home!! I'm supposed to be resting ffs!!
I just want someone to understand how sick and utterly exhausted I actually feel

oh no! I had it when I was in highschool and it was terrible..
Is it strange that you have had it 3 times now? I thought it was sort of a once only thing..

Some strains can lurk ( for lack of a better term) in your body and recur in times of physical/emotional stress

OP I feel for you, it's a terrible illness

I got that a few years ago. It was horrible and yes it really knocks you around. Just follow doctors orders and rest up where you can.

Default Omg I feel so sick!!! Vent

Just an update, I'm heading back to work today coz I really can't afford not to!! Throat is feeling better but still achy and lethargic. Doc says that could stick around for months though
He's gonna run some more tests and send me to a specialist for further investigation as its unusual to get glandular fever more than once and there could be an underlying autoimmune issue
